Whenever you study something spiritual, there is a process at work you may want to understand, in order that you may receive the most benefit from your efforts.
This principle comes from the teachings of Rav Ashlag, founder of The Kabbalah Centre, and I speak at length about it in my advanced course, Ten Luminous Emanations, Lesson 47
Whenever you learn, you get the concept in your mind, but then your “filth” (says Rav Ashlag) covers up that concept. Even though you remember it, it is not as strong and as pure as it was when you read or heard it straight from the source.
That’s why it’s important to always go back, because when you go back to the actual words, you again receive the purity and clarity of the wisdom. And as it gets clouded again over time, it’s essential to go back over and over to renew the concept in your mind.
I hope for all of us that we take the time this month to go back to the classes that have moved us in the past, (for many it begins with the Power of Kabbalah courses, Levels 1-3) so that we may renew the certainty and clarity these concepts gave us the first time around.
Blessings & Light,
